Previous Sons of Italy Honoree Joe Grano Has Big Plans for Italian-American Tribute in Lower Manhattan

Previous SIF Honoree Joseph Grano has envisioned a $25 million museum devoted to Italian  and Italian American heritage on a 124-year-old pier  in Lower Manhattan, the New York Times reported on Dec. 7. The proposal has been submitted to and is one of four plans under consideration by the Battery Park City Authority, the entity that controls the pier.

Mr. Grano was the 2004 recipient of the Sons of Italy Foundation’s National Education & Leadership Award.
